ESTUDIO FEDERICO CHURBA AT ARTEBA 2015

For the third time, Estudio Federico Churba designed Isla de Ediciones a social and common area in arteBA, one of the most important art fairs in Latin America and a leading cultural event in Buenos Aires. The area was sponsored by Fundación Proa and organized by a curatorial team led by Facundo de Falco and Lucrecia Palacios.

Isla de Ediciones is a space where visitors can appreciate a wide range of publications exposed by relevant editorials and magazines from the visual arts world. The place was divided in four sections: two exhibiting areas, one auditorium and one lounge area.

“The goal was to generate a system of pieces made in steel by limiting ourselves to productive processes such as cutting and welding. We generated a series of structures such as book exhibitors, cubes to show and stock magazines, benches and other objects that served as furniture for the auditorium and lounge area. The challenge was to find a system that could generate as many alternatives as possible with the same language”. Says Federico Churba
